Guest Louise Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 Hi all, I wish to rent somewhere in the near future in the Gold Coast area but cannot apply to rent until I have viewed a property internally, this I can't do from the UK and I want to have somewhere organised before I get there instead of wasting money in hotels. Guest LisaG Posted May 19, 2007 Share Posted May 19, 2007 Re renting a house Hi Louise, I emigrated here 2 weeks ago, I looked at trying to rent a property for 6+ months before we came but it was difficult, nobody would rent without viewing and signing contracts etc. What we did was to book a holiday home/house for 4-6 weeks which we are in at present and its nice and cheaper than a hotel. We move into a more permanent property in 3 weeks time having viewed and signed. The people who we rented the holiday house from are Gwen & John and there website is; http://www.tasmanlink.com We are renting in the Bray Park area of Brisbane which is about 40 mins into to the airport /city. We are close to Strathpine and Albany Creek - there are quite a rfew etail areas and its nice enough till you find where you want to live. We will be moving to a place called Cashmere in two weeks - a really nice house and in the cathchment area of where are children have started school. I am trying to set up a deal with people who specialise in short term holiday rentals here in Redcliffe while you can get time to sort out your brand new lifestyle change! My office also manages rental properties so knowing an agent here may be able to help you get by because of the silly references and the fact that there are just not enough rentals even for locals!!!
