A study of 8000 respondents taken by McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) found that satisfaction levels amongst contractors are significantly higher than those of their permanent counterparts, as more workers around the globe choose to make the leap into flexible contracting work. Working nine to five for a single employer bears little resemblance to the way a substantial share of the workforce makes a living today and the findings by MGI show that contractors are now showing greater satisfaction levels in nearly every aspect of their work.
