Hi all, We are a family currently residing in Adelaide and have now made the decision to move to Townsville in January, We would have been in Adelaide for 2 years by then..... currently doing bits of research on Townsville, suburbs etc and am in the process of booking our removals and then the flights, there is me, husband, and 4 of our 5 children are coming with us, plus Jemimah the Labradoodle !!..My husband will be driving our campervan there with one of the children and Jemimah whilst I fly ahead with the other children to get to the new place and welcome the removal lorry !! We have enjoyed our time in SA but we need to follow the sun and also keep going with the big adventure which is Australia !! Would welcome any advice on the road trip, suburbs, schools etc - well will sign off cos the gaggle of kids need feeding...... cheers all :biglaugh:

Hi

This is my first time on here and yours is the first post I have read which reads a bit like I am thinking.

We have lived in Adelaide for nearly 4 years and have 2x 2year old twins and a 12 year old. We are happy here and have some great friends but we struggle (especially myself) with the winter months.

I wish you all the luck and would just ask when you get there an dget settled if you would spend a momnet to just let us know what you think.....we have made no decision to move but it is niggling in the depth sof my mnd.

thanks

M

Hi there,

Yes of course we will....if we survive the road trip there that is:biglaugh: We excited about the move, it just feels like Queensland can offer us more as a family, better weather for a start which is what we came for, also employment, my husband has struggled getting work since being here (Engineer)...will keep you posted....

We did a road trip Adelaide to Brisbane with the kids (7yrs and 12 at the time),, We booked ahead for places to stop at and kept an esky in the back with cold drinks and snacks... We did it over about 3 days staying off the main 'route' and it was brilliant, stopping in lots of little towns that we would never have visited,,we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Lots of luck with yours, plan it well and it should be fine
