Guest colin1968
Hi, Am heading out for a new start in Brisbane in October. Pretty clueless to be honest! Is there an easy way to transfer money from UK to Australia? Can I open a bank account over there from here before I arrive and transfer money? Guest Cerberus1
Hi, Am heading out for a new start in Brisbane in October. Pretty clueless to be honest! Is there an easy way to transfer money from UK to Australia? Can I open a bank account over there from here before I arrive and transfer money? Colin Hi Colin Yes, you can open an Australian bank account while still in the Uk and transfer money to it. Have at look at http://migrant.nabgroup.com/en/australia/live-and-work/banking-in-australia to open an account with the National Australia Bank (nab). You could also look at ANZ, westpac, commonwelath etc. When you move your money, you usually get a better deal if you you a foreign exchange company rather than going via your Uk back as the exchange rate you're offered is usually better and the fees cheaper. We partner with Moneycorp across all our forums - http://moneytransfer.pomsinoz.com/ but there's several other exchange rate companies you could use if you wish. If you have any questions about foreign exchange, John from Moneycorp is a member on the forum and he'd be happy to advise how the process works. You can get in touch with him @ http://www.lifeinqueensland.com/forum/private.php?do=newpm&u=1630
