Many people have more than one option open to them and there may be pros and cons to be considered. Others may not be eligible for permanent residence visa immediately, and in this situation it is important to consider not just obtaining a visa but rather the longer term pathway leading to permanent residence as some temporary options may limit your later options.

A UK Expat, Tee lived and worked in a number of countries before settling in Australia. Being a migrant herself places Tee in a position to better understand some of the concerns and stress that can arise during the visa application and migration process. Moving to Perth Forum goes from strength to strength

Posted in: Forum News by Rob on 01/09/2013 | No Comments

Once again, it’s another record breaking month for our ‘Moving to Perth’ forum.

www.perthpoms.com was launched in 2006 to fill a niche in the market for a social networking platform created for British Expats living in Perth and the surrounding areas and for prospective migrants who are planning to relocate to Western Australia.

In August, the forum was visited 67,085 times (our highest ever), by 26,690 unique visitors (our highest ever). 696,797 pages were viewed (our highest ever) and 3,537 posts were made (our highest ever).

Western Australia continues to be an attractive destination for migrants.

In July, CommSec’s quarterly ‘State of the States’ report was released and once again, Western Australia was named the strongest economy among the states and territories.

In early August, the Latest ‘Quality of Life’ report was released by Natwest International Personal Banking and as last year, Australia retained it’s number one ranking.

In late August, the Economist Intelligence Unit released the results of its annual ‘Global Liveability Survey’ and once again, Perth was ranked in the top 10 most liveable cities in the world based on stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

Therefore it comes as no surprise that the interest in emigrating to Western Australia appears to show no signs of abating and this appears to be backed up by the ever growing number of visitors to the forum.

Moving to Sydney Forum

Posted in: Forum News by Rob on 26/05/2013 | No Comments

If you’re Moving to Sydney (or are already living there and are looking to expand your social circle), then we’ve got some good news. We’ve just taken ownership of www.sydneyforum.com and are currently in the process of transitioning it to our ‘Australia Migration Forums’ network. We already have regional forums covering Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth & Queensland and have often been asked if we have any plans to create a Sydney / New South Wales forum, so the acquisition made sense. Unlike all of our other forums, the Sydney forum will run on a new platform. If all goes well, then over time, we intend to move all the forums to the new platform. So if you’re heading to Sydney, then please stop by and join us, we’d love to hear your thoughts about Sydney (and the forum). If you’ve any questions about schools, suburbs, jobs, night-life or anything else, just ask 🙂

Moving to Sydney Forum coming soon

We’re pleased to announce that we’ll soon be adding a ‘Moving to Sydney‘ forum to our network. The forum will probably be up and running in a couple of weeks (touch wood) and will hopefully develop into a thriving community for people emigrating to New South Wales and for expats already living there. We’re currently putting the moderating team in place, if anyone has a good knowledge of Sydney and would like to help assist in the running and growth of the forum, then drop us a line

Emigrating to Australia

Posted in: Forum News by Rob on 01/04/2012 | No Comments

Despite having over a days downtime in March due a a minor technical hiccup, our Emigrating to Australia Forum – pomsinoz attracted it’s highest number of monthly visitors ever, with 457,490 visits. Despite the poor exchange rate, the stagnant housing market in the UK and continuing house prices rises in Australia, it appears that the emigration dream still burns brightly for many people and the pull of life down under remains strong.
